MEET LE GIP
Welcome to our investigation into the life and creative production of fashion designer, drummer, and dancer Byron Le Gip. The clothing and ephemera preserved by Le Gip invites us to expand and complicate historical understandings about fashion, race, and “ethnic” as a marketing tool in the U.S. after World War II.
We see Le Gip’s effort to document his life as a radical act, a refusal to be erased from history.
